world championships
I would call this trip "my first time".
I think many of the situations were new to me, but the two most important,
1 - I was asked to work on a road racing event. Before that, I had worked on many gravel competitions, I was wondering if I would use my experience well
2 - I was supposed to be the main photographer at the UCI world championships. It's good that I like challenges
A few days before departure, I picked up my car from the mechanic - my favorite van. I was informed that there is a problem with the injectors that I was repairing 3 months earlier. I guess you know what I felt when a car that is not fully functional has to go on such a journey. I took this job and because it is important for me to keep my word, I knew that whatever happened, I had to get there .
There is someone I can always count on, someone who will never let me down and I knew he would help me. So I took him with me. The road was good for us, every time there were problems with the car and it wanted to stop, he helped me. We talked and laughed all the way, and it kept me from thinking that anything might be wrong. We arrived safely.
Often, if I do not know the team I will work with, I wonder what kind of people they are. My friend, whom I took with me, told me - trust, they will be good people. After my first day of work, I felt like I came to my Italian family. Everyone I have met are fantastic and talented people.
In the pictures my friend was with me all the time, he was telling me where to position myself, where to look for emotions. It is also thanks to him that I see photography as capturing a beautiful and special moment. He was also who repaired my eyes by talking to me for a long time, so that I could see the beauty of people and not look for "dirt" in them.
After finishing work, we safely returned home. I don't even know how 12h passed - we sing a lot and if we could dance in the car, we would probably do it.
It was a good time. My friend teaches me how to trust.
Thank you God that you were with me on this journey. You are the beginning and the end.
